Hello All,
Today we took C-FQQQ up for its first flight after about 9 months of upgrades and maintenance. We replaced the entire panel with a Garmin G3X system and for some reason we decided to do it ourselves. We didn't build the plane and had a very basic understand on how things worked and where things were hidden. I can say now that while I'm not near and expert on certain parts --- I can tell you where to find them and tell you what certain do-hickies are and do. This is much more than I could have said 9 months ago. So while it was a long drawn out process, it was pretty educational.
The only part of the panel we kept was the garmin 430 (2), garmin audio panel and transponder (as well as the pressurization stuff). Stein Air sold me the parts and did up a wiring harness which was pretty good (only needed a couple fixes). Their support is great too --- the fielded countless calls from us and were happy to help. Definitely recommend them if you're in the market.
I've posted a couple videos for those interested in chiming in on our engine numbers. I should mention that our fuel flow is low... we only reached about 37GPH on take-off. This will be adjusted tomorrow. I'm thinking that made some of these other numbers high as well. The mixture was full rich during these straight/level videos. The only difference is the power settings. The other item of note is the delta between the left and right TIT... about 250degrees... any ideas?
Special thanks to Bob Pastusek who's offered great help countless times throughout this process.
Thanks folks!
