I found a couple of resources:
www.airnav.com - you can
download the PDF for each airport's approach individually
and store them for reference later however you want (too much work for
me though).
For my Android tablet, I found an app called 'Flightintel for
Pilots'. I paid less than $8 and can download several hundred at a
time by region. I live in Florida and downloaded four files that
combined cover the Southeastern US. It sorts them by airport and runway
for me. I don't know if it is available for the IPad, but it's great on my
Android.
