OK, having issued dubious information, I called and confirmed with Ross at Lancair Tech Support that the tiedown point is NOT a good place to jack a Legacy. In fact he stated that they have never specified a point for jacking in the basic design.
So now I'm curious what airplane they DO use their spherical jack pads on, but it wouldn't be a stock Legacy, clearly.
I probably shouldn't try jacking on the gear doors either ; )
