I sustained a engine compartment fire in my Lancair IV in June 2010 that resulted in a burned firewall and extensive damage to the electrical system. The fire occurred on the ground while the aircraft was stationary. I have decided that I want to sell the aircraft as is now, rather than spend the bucks on a new panel and paint job. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone to complete the project and have a fantastic airplane, without the years of work to build the whole airplane. The TSIO-550e has about 620 hours on it. The panel was all round dials from the 1990's. Airplane first flew in 1998. I would prefer to sell the wings and fuselage together.
Details of the accident are on the NTSB website, search for June 2010 in Caldwell, Idaho.
The pieces are currently hangared in La Grande, Oregon.
Please contact me for further details.
