I have a couple of items that would seem to make assembly easier. Has anyone done this or had the same thoughts? Number 1: The manual says to place a 1/4" spacer between the spar and the front and rear shear panels. I measured the backup plates that go between the shear panels and spar and they each are .260 to .265". It seems to me I would be building in a .020 to .030 interference fit that will have to be expanded through 19 ply of fiberglass when I finally want to put the wings in for the final time. I believe I should mark the backup plates and use them as spacers. Has anyone else run into this problem? Number 2 Looking forward in the manual on how the main gear is mounted, both the front and rear shear panels need to be cut to mount the gear receptacles (~1.85" x 14.5" long). The manual leaves the cutting until after the shear panel is mounted. Cutting the 1/2" fiberglass is a bear! It seems it would be much easier to cut off 1.8" x 14.5" before I mount the panels, then use a grinder to get the remaining .050" off when I mount the gear receptacles.
