As I understand it the Iskra starter causes the spring to drag on the
shaft and consequently the spring and shaft wear out very quickly.
It's impossible to know how much yours has been damaged without
removing it and having a qualified shop inspect it. Since that
involves major work (on a Legacy, engine has to be moved forward a few
inches in to get the starter adaptor off) I would probably just change
the starter and keep my fingers crossed if I were in your position.
But that's just my opinion and I'm not a aircraft engine mechanic.
