Hi Dan,
I'm not a thermodynamics expert and I don't have a Legacy.
However, my thought for my IVP was that if there's plenty of flow, the temp of the air coming out the top cannot be that much (10-20 dF?) hotter than the ambient cabin temperature.
I found that the volume of air moved varies greatly and that how that varies as a function of back pressure also varies from fan to fan.
I ended up with a pair of the xxx24h701's in my IVP. Can't give you an operational report yet. Together I should get 40-50cfm out of them.

Anyone have experience thoughts on using a fan in the glare shield on
a Legacy to cool the avionics. I am concerned about pulling air out
towards the canopy and onto the plexiglass, but I believe this would
result in better cooling. I do have a avionics fan, but it still gets
mighty hot behind the panel.
Thanks
