Flight training is key with any new unfamiliar aircraft you will be flying. A refresher course is always good even if you have not been flying that type of aircraft in a long period of time. As for the A&P who is doing the inspect and for the owner as well, I would go to the Lancair website and download all the Service Bulletins for the L235 aircraft.

Ross at Lancair is a highly knowledgeable on 235's, if the A&P is unfamiliar with Lancair's or composite aircraft I also suggest taking the plane to a shop that specialises in Lancair's or composite aircraft.
Hope this was helpful and good luck.
