Dan,
Mine are removable, and after doing 4 condition inspections I am glad they
are. I have air temp probes, MSU, nav antenna, and fuel vent lines in my
winglets. Over the years some very small maintenance items would have been
very large problems if the winglets were bonded on. There is also the
problem of replacing a fuel capacitance probes, however unlikely, with the
winglets bonded on.

Subject: Winglet installation
opinions?
Greetings LML Gang,
I’m starting on the installation of the winglet on my first
wing of the IV-P. My desire is to bond the winglets on permanently as I
don’t see a good reason to make them removable. The lights will be
removable through their lens covers.
Interested in hearing from other IV-P owners as to whether
you have needed to remove your winglets or not. Would I be making a big
mistake by making them permanent?
