My own personal opinion is to go to Superior Aircraft Painting in McMinville, Ore., if they're still around, and go Imron, followed by a clear coat. We're going to fly in primer for a while (when we get Airborne), and then going North. Tired of these jerkwater California regulations.

Subject: [LML] Paint suggestions
My partner and I are starting to think about paint for our IVPT. We are
located in California and have a local person who can do the painting, but
there is a limitation to which paint we can obtain and use here. I would
appreciate any opinions of whether it's worth going out of state or if PPG
or other is the way to go in California. Appreciate any recommendations for
the type of paint for the best and most durable finish.
A while back I saw some information on either paint or a coating that is
hydrophobic (repels water and other substances). Does anyone have personal
experience on their aircraft using such a product. If so, I would
appreciate any information about which product, any goods and others about
use and cost would be great.
Thanks,
Denis
