Alternative - much better, I think - is to use a KY97A which is the identical radio but operating at 12 volts. I have this radio for my IVP but I'm using the converter to run the GNS 430 which doesn't come in a 12 volt version and also the Jet 2 1/4 gyro which also operates at 28V. Wish I were where you are - Brazil is a great place!!
