On my Legacy, I have to change out the starter adapter as a result of the Iskra damage.   I put another TCM starter on and of course the starter adapter is damaged and the blades won't even turn over now.   This is a warning for anyone still running the ISKRA.   When it goes and takes out the starter adapter you may have a couple of weeks of downtime while you go through this exercise.  Hopefully, you'll be at your home airport like I am.  Like the list says, take it out now while you can.

So my question is:  There are 2 long studs into the crankcase that prevent the adapter from being removed without moving the entire engine off the mounts.    If those studs could be removed and replaced with 5 inch bolts, the adapter could come off without moving the engine.  Has anyone contemplated this?   I'm guessing the studs are thread-locked so I'm probably best off just moving the engine and saving time overall.  I have an adapter coming in from Niagara so thanks to all who pointed to them for help.

Question #2: Where do you source those large lock tabs that lock the engine mount bolts?  I've looked at AircraftSpruce and cannot see them.

Thanks
