Mark,

You may want to double check your procedures.  I see a major flaw in your ISP that will certainly have an unpredictable failure at the least convenient time.  ;-)

Mike,

You are so right but my Blue Mountain is unique........it still works! I live at Spruce Creek where at one time this homebuilder mecca had at least a dozen aircraft equipped with Blue Mountain units. One at a time, they started failing until there are just a couple still functioning  at this point. Our pilot group now call Blue Mountain units "Black Mountains". I owe my good fortune to proper preflight procedures which are:

1. Walk around the aircraft three times while praying (two Hail Mary's and a Our Father).

2. Do not step on a crack in the concrete while circling the aircraft.

3. A liberal sprinkling of Holy Water over the cowl.

4. Ensure that my clove of garlic is fresh and my lucky penny is my pocket.

5. Adjust the rear view mirror carefully so as not to disturb the rabbit foot

6. When booting up with the left eye closed, hold my breath.

Works every time

Mark

Tom,

I don't have a Dynon Skyview in my panel but am considering replacing my Blue Mountain Efis 1 with one. Your comments on the performance (pro and con) of the Skyview unit would be of interest. Is it possible to post these to the open forum?

Please respond off-list if you are currently FLYING a Lancair with a Dynon
Skyview panel.

I have been for about a year and would like to get our collective heads together
about issues I have seen and maybe you have some too.

Thanks,
