I had the same problem of non-existant joggles and felt the only option
was to add filler. It took a bit of work as the filler needed to be blended
into the forward deck and front part of the canopy to look right and it is
at least 1/4 inch deep along the canopy joint. Care needs to be taken to
put an angle into the leading edge of the canopy/aft forward deck joint so
the canopy can swing up and foward. That can be a difficult area to get
right and took the most amount of head scratching and ah shucks I've got to
do that over again. It looks pretty good now. Lancair tech rep advised
the same fix.
PS: I don't have a header tank so I don't know how a big dimple for that
gas cap would look or how you could make that acceptable. It might be that
it is foward enough of the canopy joint to not be pronounced.
