For those of you flying around the San Francisco area, some changes to that
airspace were reported in this morning's issue of AvFlash... here's what
they had to say:
>>>
SAN FRANCISCO, OPEN UP YOUR GOLDEN CLASS B: Citing the need for more
stringent air traffic control in the area, the FAA last week published
its new, expanded and reconfigured Class B airspace for the San
Francisco area. Most significantly, the ceiling of the "upside-down
wedding cake" we used to know as a terminal control area was raised from
8,000 feet to 10,000 feet, and the floor was lowered to 4,000 in several
areas.
NOTE: AVweb's Newswire <http://www.avweb.com/newswire/news0024b.html>
includes details of the concessions the FAA made to area pilots, and
a link to the full description of the new airspace.
