I have been trying to find a way to provide vacuum to the Outflow Valve on a
pressurized all-electric IV without tapping the engine and going thru the
firewall.
The rep at Duke, Inc (mfg of the outflow valve) has suggested a small low
cost vacuum generator mfgr by the Ander Corp which uses pressure from the
door seal air pump to supply vacuum to the outflow valve. Since vacuum is
only needed on the ground, a small valve could be used to isolate the vacuum
generator from the pressure system while airborne. Another solution would
be to let the door seal pump cycle a few extra times during flight since we
are talking about a very small amount of pressure air.
The vacuum generator is non-electric and has no moving parts. Shipping is
free if purchased on the web. Cost is approx $ 25.00.each. Let me know if
anyone is interested and I will be happy to make a group purchase.
