What is your experiences with propeller governors and what manufacture would you go with?

Presently I have a McCauley with an MT propeller on IO-550. I had had continued problems with the governor and I'm looking to replace it with a different brand.

Russell, I use an MT governor on my TSIO 550 (IV-P) with MT four-blade prop. As originally provided, the prop control response was very rapid and the governor allowed some “hunting” for the proper RPM during steady state cruise. The RPM change was not enough to show on the tach, but you could feel and hear it. MT installed a restrictor port in the governor ant this fixed the problem. I’ve since flown this combination more than 600 hours without trouble. I can recommend this combination for my engine/prop; not sure about others.
