I hope to have a full report on the gear in about a month.  I am waiting for
the hoses to connect the high and low pressure gauges and once I get them I
will have an inside view of just what happens from the point of view of the
pressures and whether this could cause the  pressure switches to remain open
at an inappropiate time.

Having said this I have been cycling the gear half a dozen times per day and
have yet to repeat the problem of having the gear refuse to answer to a
command.  I will keep on trying even if I do not have the pressure gauges in
place as it will at least give me a chance to put the meter across the
pressure switches and verify their position.

I would like to lay this to rest as I feel the change out of any component
is not to solve the problem as it is so intermittent.

The association of the failure to accept the down command with low
temperatures is an added complication which I do not feel I will be able to
solve in my garage.  For it to happen twice under the same circumstances
raises a red flag.  Once I get the plane up to the airport later on this
year I will be able to give it a taste of a cold Canadian winter which might
easily simulate 11,000 feet

Regards

Ian
