Excellent idea Tom.
Here's what I've done on mine:

As has been pointed out, the pressure trying to lift the skin under some circumstances might reach as much as 1000 lbs. Hydraulics are great at supplying high pressure. I put a hydraulic cylinder under the aft skin. Under normal flight it's plumbed to the HI side of the hydraulic pump thereby supplying the required 1,000 lbs closing pressure. While doing low level aerobatics I've got valves that I can actuate to lift one wing skin at a time. This really helps increase the roll rate. As an added benefit, it's fun to activate 'em while taxiing in just to "wave" at the crowd.

While working on my Legacy kit it occurred to me that once it's flying inspection
and maintenance of the main gear would be so much easier if the stub wing skin
could be removed.  I attached a hinge to the leading edge so that the skin could be
opened as shown in the picture.  Now I'm trying to decide what sort of fasteners
I should use on the trailing edge.  Any suggestions?
