Jeff, I have been taught that, in the event of and engine fire, the quickest way to the ground from a cruise altitude is to immediately push over into a Vne dive (after turning off the fuel of course). The supposed added benefit is that the you might "blow out" the flames. Do you (any of you) agree with this? What's your plan if you are at say 8000 AGL and detect and engine fire? RonL
