There are a lot of them flying and I have not heard of a single incident of the prop failing unless someone stuck it in the ground or let something go thru it. Even in that instance, it will sustain less damage than some props. But I wouldn't recommend the prop for your plane. The design of the prop close to the hub is flat to the direction of flight and produces a lot of drag. This becomes a speed limit of about 185 mph. Your plane will be capable of much more than that. This limit doesn't come into play with a pusher plane because the fuselage blocks this area anyway and the prop works much better in that application. It has not flown yet but from what i have seen I would stay away from that propeller. They are relatively inexpensive and it shows. You get what you pay for and that is definetely true in this case. I have never seen a flying lancair with one of those propellers. Go with what other guys are usign and have had success with. You are wise to ask. You do not want to land one of these airplanes off field. The 2 items I would not scrimp on is engine or propeller... Your hands will be full enough enough without major potential life changing complications from one of those items. If you know what I mean.....
