  I started out with the parallel type canopy which turned out to be a
rickety sort of affair as built per
Lancair's plans. It allows for easy entry and closing, but has the four
camlock latches unless modified and does not allow for much air on taxi as
it is hard to hold open a little on a hot day..it wants to pull upward if
you open it too far. Also the bar that goes behind the panel can get in the
way of your gyros, etc. The foward hinged style allows for air on taxi and
easier latching with the center lever system. I'm happy I changed to the
foward hinged method in my plane.
