Not much. We now know the other occupant was Daylon Harrington, also a = pilot but I didn't know him and don't know his background. While at the = hangar yesterday someone mentioned that Daylon (I think he was 25) was a = flight instructor working out of Twin Oaks, a small airport just south = of HIO. He and Scott were friends and it appears he was just riding = along. According to the owner of the shop where Scott worked the impact appears = to have been extremely violent. People he talked to said the wreakage = was spread out a couple hundred feet and there were no large pieces. It = sounds a lot like the IV-P turbine that went down in Portland, OR two = years ago. Prescott, the closest airport to the crash site, was = reporting light rain and OVC at the time. According to a friend there = was quite a bit of activity in the area showing on doppler radar. = Everyone has a theory or two, including me, but I guess we'll have to = wait for the NTSB prelim for more details.
