It is useful for fuel cap leakage if your bird is on the ramp. It also will
get some trash out of fuel system

I wasn't aware that gasoline would absorb water. How is checking the fuel
sump for water supposed to be useful?
Anyway, it does bring the question: is there some aviation equivalent of
"dry gas" that is compatible with aircraft fuel systems?
