Using the mags allows gas to wash down the cylinders, which in my opinion is not a good thing. Additionally by just pushing the red knob in will bring the engine back to life without any worry of fouled spark plugs. Personally, I would slowly push the red knob in. How slowly would depend on whether or not I was about to land at a desirable spot.
