Don´t. The flanges on my torque tubes were slightly
out of perpendicular too. I just bolted the torque tubes together and violated
them a little. It doesn´t take much force to straighten the flanges this way and
the welds hold up just fine.
My torque tubes were a bit short, though, so I had
a friend machine an aluminum spacer.
I would not fill the gap with Hysol, flox or the
like. There´s a good chance that this "glue spacer" will break up over
time, leaving you with only loosely connected torque tubes.

to sanding! I have attached a couple of
motivation pics. When stuff looks like this, all you need is another 100
hours of buffing and your paint job just might be deemed
acceptable...............
