To me getting the prop back early on is the secret. I use 3500' and 1500' and fly a slightly wider pattern. If I'm high, I vary the gear and flaps. Works pretty good. (remember to get the prop back up when established on final). Also, remember what "whats his name" said about Carnegie Hall - Practice, Practice, Practice
