This is a problem that appeared on some of the 320/360 kits manufactured in the late 90's also.  The flanges in the center of your torque tubes are probably mis-aligned, like mine are:
 
 
I think I measured the gap at 0.005" or something like that.  I was able to fill in the gap, but if you look closely, you'll notice a vertical offset also, so I'm still hosed.  Now, I can anchor both ends and one side in the center.  I'll probably end up refabricating both torque tubes from scratch.
 
If you only have the mis-alignment without the offset, you can fill that gap with just about anything (expired Hysol, JBWeld, etc) since that assembly is under compression when assembled.
