 I bought some used Ideal strippers at SnF that had specially formed plates=
. Instead of the sharp beveled blades (Home Depot) which are likely to nick=
 wires these are formed so there is a hole with a narrow band in the center=
. The band grips the insulation tightly and strips it off without nicking. =
Cost was $12.00 each (15 years ago) in two size ranges. Strippers and mil-s=
pec replacement plates sometimes come up on Ebay.
 I'd be interested to know what FAR that DAR was referencing. The pros I kn=
ow use mechanical- they're lower cost and can be used in awkward situations=
. I would never use a NAPA style stripper/crimper though. -Bill Wade
