I am assuming you replaced the seals and cleaned the pistons.... Sounds like you are not keeping the epoxy warm (a light bulb between the two pumps works great) or your return spring is to soft or stretched out.
The guy at Michaels is very helpful also.
Hope this helps, Steve

Subject: [LML] Epoxy Pump Rebuild

I have a Michael Engineering Sticky Stuff Dispenser.  I bought it used in pretty good shape.  I cleaned it up and all, but I am having trouble with it.  When I pull the plunger down, it goes, but it does not go up easily.  Do I need to unscrew the pump parts where the cylinders are and soak those in acetone or denatured alcohol?  I bought new reservoirs, but what is included in the rebuild kits Aircraft Spruce sells?  Has anyone ever send one back to Michael to get it reman-ed or should I just buy a new one?  Thanks!
