The minimum runway required will vary a lot from aircraft to aircraft.

I find that I am limited by the takeoff requirements rather than landing
distance. I worry about runways that are shorter than 3500 feet making
compromises on load or requiring more headwind to use them.
 
With accurate speed control in my IV-P I can land and stop in 1500 to 1800
feet of runway (no obstructions, 4 on board 1/3 fuel, 95 knots on final,
light wind, touchdown on the numbers).

Takeoff (full fuel, 4 on board) to clear a modest tree requires more than
3000 feet.
