We have a local upholstery guy who's done some absolutely
beautiful Lancair interiors and I asked him once what he used to attach the
material for the sidewalls and headliners and he told me it was a plastic sheet
material called Kydex. Apparently it's available from any good plastic
supplier, we have Tap Plastics here, and in various thicknesses. He
attaches the upholstery material with some kind of contact cement that
upholstery shops use. I'm still amazed at what a good interior person can
do and I believe it's more art than science.
