Last Setember my wife and I made a flight  in our Lancair 320 from Denver to
Enterprise, AL nonstop in 6 hours flight time,  the distance is 1076 nm from
BJC to EDN.  We still had a 17 gallon fuel reserve upon landing.  To get
this kind of fuel range you need to get above 10,000 and have oxygen of
course. The total fuel used was 42 gallons, total available was 59.  We have
made several flights from Alabama to Phoenix, AZ  at a distance of 1330 nm,
the flight time averages 7.5 hours,  we normally make one fuel stop at
Austin, TX.   We both love coffey but we avoid it if we are going to make a
long trip and we always have 2 quarts of water on board.  Mel Yanda
