Hi all

My name is Mike Wixon, and I'm new to this list.  I've been considering
building a kitplane for several years now, and I think I'm finally ready to
take the plunge.  One of my main requirements, 4 seats, significantly
narrows the field of available options.  I've received the Lancair package
and immediately fell in love with the IV.  I briefly considered the ES, but
thought to myself if I'm going to spend all that time, I want everything :-)

I haven't taken a test flight yet, I plan to do that in the next month or so
during one of my trips to Seattle.  I guess my main question is: "what am I
getting myself into?".  I've never build a plane before (or for that matter,
any mode of transportation) - but I am pretty handy.  I am very knowledgable
in electronics, not so though in engine mechanics.  I'd appreciate it if any
IV builders could share some of their experiences.  I'm definately going to
go for the SFB kit.  I guess the $64,000 questions is: How long did it
*really* take?

If this info is available anywhere else, I'd appreciate a pointer.  Thanks.
