Russel,
I have used a gas powered tug that attached to the nosewheel and when the surface was slick it was very problematical. On ice and snow it was impossible. I now have a winch located in the4 back of the hanger and it works very well. The system that I use is this, first the winch is at the side of the hanger with a turning pulley in the center of the hanger (this allows the rope to wind up smoothly without bunching). This works pulling the aircraft in and then to pull it out I have a stake across the way and use a second turning pulley to allow the winch to apply force to remove the airplane from the hanger. Works very well and the long cord on the winch allows you to be in front with the tow bar steering the aircraft. Modified the tail tie down slightly to allow it to pull directly from the tail tie down location. Pulling out attached to the nose strut. Using nylon rope not steel cable as Nylon has flexibility and
give to reduce shocks. Cost 5 years ago $175.00

Subject: [LML] tug for a legacy
Any of you guys would recommend a TUG for moving my legacy around. I have a slight gradient to deal with out of the hangar and would like to use an electric tug.
Happy new year
