On ice a= nd snow it was impossible. I now have a winch located in the4 back of the h= anger and it works very well. The system that I use is this, first the winc= h is at the side of the hanger with a turning pulley in the center of the h= anger (this allows the rope to wind up smoothly without bunching). This wor= ks pulling the aircraft in and then to pull it out I have a stake across th= e way and use a second turning pulley to allow the winch to apply force to = remove the airplane from the hanger. Works very well and the long cord on t= he winch allows you to be in front with the tow bar steering the aircraft. = Modified the tail tie down slightly to allow it to pull directly from the t= ail tie down location. Pulling out attached to the nose strut. Using nylon = rope not steel cable as Nylon has flexibility and give to reduce shocks.
