Having done lots of packed snow landings in my 210, I decided to give it a try in the IV.  With no nose gear steering and relying totally on differential braking, I didn’t actually make it too far from the hangar before aborting my ill thought out mission.  (have you seen the weather in Seattle this weekend?!?)

I wouldn’t recommend anyone land a IV on packed snow.  In fact, I wouldn’t recommend even taxiing, much less taking off and landing.

yep, and its not good. I avoid snow on the runway due to high tire pressure and no nose wheel steering. Others my have different opinions.
