Hello all,
A number of you have inquired about our schedule of events for the Lancair Fly In at Hot Springs Arkansas, Oct. 10-12.   This fly in will be very different from past events in that we're based in the heart of town and there's lots to do nearby.

I am posting this to invite your feedback.  This is a wonderful destination with a plethora of activities.

At the current time I am planning a welcoming event at the hotel on Friday evening,  a "Prop Talk" event at the airport Saturday afternoon/early evening for you to visit with fellow pilots and compare notes on your planes, and a Sunday Brunch prior to departure.

As to the things to do, if there is a lot of feedback about any particular activity I will be glad to try to organize it for a group.
We will also have some vehicles available to shuttle folks around, however, it sounds like getting to attractions is pretty easy.  For outlying destinations however, you may want your own rental car.

This is a list with something for everyone:  (check these out online for more details)

Garven Woodland Botanical Gardens,  Magic Springs Theme Park & Crystal Falls Water Park (both within Hot Springs National Park),  Hot Springs National Park has multiple hiking, nature hike and mountain biking trails - the Nat'l. Park encompasses the north end of the downtown area of the city.

There is lots and lots of water around Hot Springs, so there's abundant bass and trout fishing,  National Park boat tours,  and canoeing opportunities.   The Belle of Hot Springs Riverboat offers cruises.  Party Barge rentals if you just want to cruise are readily available for $54 hr., capacity 12.

There are a variety of historical tours available, museums, and art galleries, and lots of shopping all within walking distance of the Arlington.  There's also a President Clinton Hometown Tour of historic sites.

The Arlington owns the Country Club which features 2 courses...if you plan to play, make your tee time reservations when you make your room reservations.  Hotel guests enjoy all Country Club priviledges.

And of course, the real highlight of this place is the spas.  Bathhouse Row on the main street downtown features many historic bathhouse spas with full services...massage to the whole works.

You won't have trouble finding something interesting and enjoyable to do.

So what do you think?

Thank you,
