hi all-
with great reluctance i am putting my lancair propjet sn 501 up for
sale. it is registered as a 2006 model. dar charlie kohler. 1st
flight pete zaccagnino. well known to pete, greg heinze, josh b of
hpat. last annual/condition inspection(8/07) at lancair where it got
tweaked for 6 weeks last summer. since then it has spent 9 months in
paint(don't ask but the paint turned out great- just took forever!) and
the last 6 weeks getting a sporty plush suede interior. total time on
airframe and brand NEW walter 601e engine bought from joe b/lancair is
still under 100 hours.
when we started building over the labor day flyin in 2001 i wanted the
perfect personal traveling airplane and built it that way sparing no
cost. and this is exactly what i have ended up with. however, as life
changes i have a new family since then which includes three wonderful
children under 5. so now i need a family plane and cannot justify
keeping the lancair purely as a toy from a financial viewpoint.
the plane has almost every option and virtually everything was bought
from lancair(i've done my best to help keep joe in business) including
tks deicing(slinger ring, wings, and horiz stabs), large belly tank,
a/c, strakes and extended vertical fin(from mike custard), custom
lancair panel incl dual chelton, cnx 480, mx20, xm radio, tcad, wsi, 4
place bose plugins, trutrak a/p, aoa, etc, etc, etc......
i have not kept track of how much i have into the plane exactly but it
is well over $850k. i realize the market is down and i will never get
that much out of it. however, i will consider any and all offers and
will consider taking a single or twin on trade that will accomodate a
family of 5. this is a fantastic dream plane which unfortunately just
doesn't fit my mission any longer.
i am planning on flying her to oshkosh arriving on tues hopefully by
noon and will need to leave Thursday if anyone wants to see her in
person. otherwise please contact me offlist at the email address or
phone number below and i can send pictures if desired.
thanks and fly safe!
