Gerard,
The fact that your pressure consistently comes back up after 15 minutes points to the fuel pressure gage or sending unit having a restricted vent.  It might be that in your case the reference pressure takes about 15 minutes instead of the seconds that it should take.  The gage has to have some way to vent the back side.

My fuel pressure guage behave exactly the same way-I put it down to vapour lock.
After about 15 minutes it comes back to middle of the green arc.


Is this the Bernoulli's principle at work in addition to some vapour lock  ?
