Not sure which is more difficult, flying aircrart or working on the gear. Had trouble with freefall of gear. One overcenter spring broken. Replaced both with new larger diameter overcenter springs. Still had sticky stbd main gear. Appears to be in the cylinder has resistance with the dump valve open(??). No binding in hinges , linkages, etc, port main drops all the way to almost overcenter. nose gear goes down great. Stbd main gets stuck 1/2 way down on a freefall. Slight steady pressure is required to get it to the point where the overcenter spring takes over. Any experience with cylinders getting sticky? Possible restriction on 1 side of the hydraulics preventing free flow of oil?? Also, AS indicator failed yesterday after landing during pattern work. I didn't catch it and abort before rotation next takeoff - sloppy. Kept waiting for it to come alive - then I was airborne. BOY did that get exciting for a newbie in 18 kts gusting to 25 !! Airspeed went down (backwards from zero to 190kts) as I accelerated and climbed. Sounds like a leaking pitot system to me. Any thoughts as well? Thanks in advance for the help.
