I have spent a small fortune buying tools in my life. I can guarantee you that
the majority of the tools you buy at Harbor Freight are definitely "cheap" in
more than one way! I visit our local Harbor Freight store here in Fresno almost
weekly. They have some outstanding values on some handy items. I have
extensivley compared their tools with some of my american made tools. My opinion
is that most of their tools are inferior to quality american made tools.
Recently I purchased one of their "Air powered long boards" and returned it in
favor for the american made Ingersol Rand air powered long board (at more than
double the cost). What a difference! Since I make a major part of my living with
my tools I always spend what sometimes seems to be an obscene amount of money
for tools but it is worth it in the long run (trust me on this issue). Sure you
may save some money buying cheap tools but you generally "get what you pay for".
I send my torque wrenches to Sacramento Sky Ranch for calibration. Here is their
web site. It is full of good aviation information and is worth a check out.
