Ed,
    Mine is 2327 without paint or interior
things that make it heavy:
    - full feathering metal prop
    - 2 full elect systems
    - 8-pack old school instruments
    - extra old school avionics: gmx200, wx500, ryan tcad
    - ski tube
    - aux fuel tank
things that make it less heavy
    - slow build wings
    - minimum use of resin

My legal gross is 3650 but from talking to other pilots I doubt I will fly 
it that heavy.
...or I should say I doubt I will want the CG back far enough to get it that 
heavy.

If I had it to do over again I would:
- wet as much of the wings as possible
- get an advanced pfd (chelton or garmin) and minimum gyro's.  it's lighter 
and has a lot less wiring
- use lighter components in the elect. system
- use a composite constant speed prop
