In defense of Epic, they do not have a cirrus-style marketing program = aimed at the general non-flying public. They do have a carefully = engineered product with better flying characteristics than at least one = other approved kitbuilt. At the time it was offered, it certainly was = an experiment. ...and as a result, their certified product has more = field experience (on the kit-built predecessor) than just about any = other new certified product I can think of. As far as I know, fewer = people have died in Epic airplanes than most other homebuilts.
