Dennis, you should "drill stop" that crack as well. with it out, I'd remove those rivets and that piece you put in, and drill stop that hole then put it bac in. Also, while It's out, I've heard there are two different pieces, altho I've only see one in the wide. Measure the width of the box from the edge where the crack is down towards the table. Get as accurate of measurement as you can and let's see if you have the "old" style or the "new" style. One is suppose to be 1/16" narrower, but like I've said, I've only seen the wider one. However mine is off so I should be able to tell you which you have in comparison to mine anyway. The box I'm talking about is the aluminum part that comes with the IO-550 baffle kit from Lancair. It fits on the forward side of the oil cooler, between the oil cooler and the left aft cylinder. It directs airflow through the oil cooler and forces cooling air through the adjacent cylinder fins.
