I am still going to fly in white primer in case I have cooling issues, etc, but on Saturday, January 19th at 1pm, I got my FAA airworthiness certificate.  YEAH

When I started this adventure, I thought it would take me 6 months.  I talked to a guy who took 5 years to build a Lancair 320 and laughed thinking he was "mentally challenged."

Well, 13 years later, I have a plane that is ready to fly.  However, exactly ZERO percent was farmed out to anyone.  It is a honeycomb (not foam) 320 MKII slow slow slow build kit with shocks, big tail and long mount - and I have every excuse in the book - job changes, moves, etc but I kept with it and now it's ready!!

The DAR said I did a good job on the plane.   It is winter in Rochester, NY so it might be a few months till it actually flies but I'll keep you posted on that after I tackle the lack of training issue.  Yes, I know it's available for $7000 from a company similar to Lancair in a plane similar to a 320, but this isn't a IV-P jet prop either.  Bill Rumburg has offered some flight time in his 320 - thanks Bill !!  If anyone is planning on flying into or through Rochester, NY in the next few weeks, let me know.

I am planning on building a Lancair Legacy fast-build next.  I have to build, it's in my blood now.  Only this time, I'm buying everything at once cause it's too tempting to buy as you can afford it - to spend money on stupid stuff - like cars, houses, food, and heat.
