Bryan,
After about 800 hours with no problems I taxied
over a dip - sort of a frost heave - and dinged the tips slightly. The
texture of the asphalt made it almost impossible to see the dip, even when I
went back and photographed it later. The airport paid for the
overhaul.
The prop shop shortened the Hartzel to a
70" which they said was acceptable for this prop, and no further
problems.
If you buy a used prop, be careful of the AD.
You may find that you need a new hub.
