Do you fly 3 hours or more high in cold weather and descend to warm
 landings

Try a 3 or 4 hr flight at 17,500 and decend into Vegas or PHX. That would
definetely tell you the dealio. One thing that is different on my system is
that I did not use the factory hoses. I went with small light stainless braid
teflon hoses.  They are good to 3k psi. The system is tight, tight, tight. If
you went with the factory hoses  it may be acting like a balloon and expanding
a little. Can't remember if you have gauges on your hyd system but that tells
the story of what is happening, not necessarily why though...

I do not hear my pump cycle while in flight.  May be I'm hard of hearing.  I will say the gear system has not been trouble free.  In its first year I worked out some early issues which were mainly related to the two relays and the adjustable pressure switches.  But, since then it has been relatively trouble free.
