MEDFORD LANCAIR FLYIN

In May I posted a notice for the Lancair gathering this summer in Medford, Oregon (MFR).  http://www.airnav.com/airport/KMFR

Saturday, August 11 is the date.  It should be doable for nearly all, as it is after the EAA Northwest Arlington Flyin in early July and Air Venture in late July with minimal other competing events.  So hopefully everyone has set aside that date.

This gathering will be informal and has been planned as a good excuse to go fly for a few hours and to put off mowing the lawn until Sunday.  Of course anyone can stay the night or weekend.  There is a new Marriott Courtyard Hotel and a Sheraton Candlewood Suites at the airport within walking distance from the FBO, or they will shuttle you to it or other hotels.  A hotel discount thru the FBO is available at the Rogue Regency not far from the airport.

We will meet at Medford Air Service, which is the nicest, FBO on the field.  http://www.medfordairservice.com/.  They are currently expanding the facility with a large two-story "art deco" design addition.  They just completed an additional 12,000 square foot attached hanger building.

Breakfast will be provided by us local Lancair people and will include fruit, breads, pastries and drinks.  Lunch will be served from  the menu from a look-a-like San Francisco street car which has been converted to an outdoor restaurant ("Aerodiner") located at the FBO.  Dinner will be located at the Rogue Regency Hotel (from their dinner menu) not far from the airport with transportation provided.

The FBO will provide discounted fuel.  The current airport self service fuel price is $3.84.  Medford Air indicated their discounted price for our gathering would be somewhere from $3.84 and $4.14, depending upon fuel prices on the 11th.

Typical temperatures in Medford in July are morning lows of about 60 and afternoons in the 90's.  The airport is towered Class D with the main runway, 14/32, 8,800' X 150' at 1,335 ft.  The airport tower is very Lancair friendly.

Please forward this info about the event to your Lancair friends that are not on the LML.  More details and pictures at a later date.  I will ask for a head count at a later date.

Any questions?  Let me know.  More info to follow at a later date.
