Something I have done on my past two airplanes is to use a "Catch Can" on
the Air/Oil Separator. I route the oil return to a Catch Can rather than
back to the engine. It allows me to monitor the amount of oil blowby and
moisture (which is loaded with acids and other combustion by products). If
the moisture is more than a few percent I know the oil temp is running too
cool, higher than usual quantity could be a ring problem, etc. Just another
way to monitor your engine. Steve
